Car Parts Falling Apart!

Tenneco is breaking down 1,100 jobs as demand for their product has hit a wall like a crash test dummy. They make car parts.

You have seen some pretty horrendous reports about auto demand these days. Now if you are wondering why it can be summed up fairly easily for you. With even small purchases and monthly eat-outs going through the budget scrutiny of the AmericaDebtor, there is no way demand for high ticket items like vacations and automobiles will hold up. People may just keep the car they have longer than 1-2 years. Many people are at credit maximum or over and will not be able to finance such a large sized purchase. Additionally, why upgrade to a new car when you, your friend, your family, or someone you've read about is going through a job loss? Would you want to plonk down the 15 - 30k or finance it up to 4 years with potential income reduction or elimination threats staring you down? Didn't think so.

Tenneco is headquartered in Lake Forest, IL.
