Drifting Away: Brunswick to Consolidate Production = Layoffs

Brunswick, who makes recreational boats, has decided that people just can't go fishing with all the new found time they have in their hands since the time comes with a lack of money. In deciding this, they saw it fit to be more prudent and consolidate operations out of Maryland and into Tennessee, while sinking payroll demands of 115 jobs.

People just keep pulling back spending on high priced items as if they were the plague. This is a new phenomena, but something that was long overdue. Everyone was trying to live like someone else's lifestyle they saw on their TV and buying up things left unused, underused, or simply not wanted to make up a facade. Clownsumers built identity by shopping; a pretty sad story in my point of view.

Brunswick is headquartered in Lake Forest, IL.
