Papering Over It: International Paper to Slow Production

International Paper to shut down one Virginia paper machine at it's mill. IP will be giving 50 employees a long and unexpected break over prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, since it will stop running in the week prior.

You can imagine paper products, which are used all over the place in an economy, will be down. You even see some newspaper casualties these days. One other side note, it is unlikely that only these 50 are to be affected, imagine reduced demand and reduced output. Perhaps overtime will be cut on remaining employees and how that will impact any of those who have maxed credit balances and leave little enough sliver of credit open to make it to the next paycheck. What happens when the reduction of pay comes in? The little sliver becomes smaller and consumption goes down.
